Fantitlán is a play on words between the English word Fan and Pantitlán in Nahuatl, which means place between flags. Pantitilán in Mexica times was a place within Lake Texcoco marked with flags because a whirlpool used to form there that sucked canoes to the bottom of the lake.
Pantitlán is currently a place in the east of Mexico City that has one of the largest subway stations in the network, where 4 lines converge and more than 400,000 passengers pass through it daily.
Pantitlán is currently a meeting point for a large number of people and the idea with Fantitlán is that the same thing happens with fans of many products of the cultural industry.
The metro station's isotype is made up of a pair of flags that represent the flags that marked the site of the sinkhole.
Fantitlán rescues the flags but we add one more flag to represent three of the fundamental axes of the fandom that we live day to day.
One of the main axes is Batman, who represents the 9th art industry.
Another is Star Wars which represents the film industry and finally the novel Dracula which represents the publishing industry.
Of course, on this site we will talk about many other cultural industries such as music, food or sports, however these three axes: cinema, comics and literature are the main ones.
